Focused on recovery and rehabilitation after an injury.

  • Acute Treatment: Immediate care for injuries to reduce pain and promote healing.
  • Rehabilitation: We create customized treatment plans to restore function and mobility. Tailored exercises will be used to help you regain strength.
  • Pain Management: Evidence-based strategies are used to manage and reduce pain. We employ various conservative care techniques to alleviate discomfort. Pain relief is our priority.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is maintenance or wellness care?

Preventative or maintenance care is defined as elective health care which is used to prevent disease, promote health, and enhance a person’s quality of life. This care may be provided after maximum therapeutic improvement, without a trial of withdrawal of treatment, to prevent symptomatic deterioration, or it may be initiated with patients without symptoms in order to promote health and to prevent future problems. Preventative services may include patient education, exercises, ergonomic posture modification, and more.

What can I expect each wellness visit?

Chiropractic manipulation and guidance on reaching your treatment goals.

How do wellness and injury-based treatment plans differ?

Treatment plans, sometimes also referred to as Care Plans, are adjusted to the patient’s specific needs and concerns. Depending on the circumstances, these types of care typically differ in frequency of care, types of therapies recommended, and imaging referrals.

What if I don’t feel better after the first visit?

The body needs time to adjust. Just like how poor posture doesn’t develop overnight, correcting imbalances and dysfunction will also take time. There are many factors that effect this process, several of which are lifestyle choices.

What happens if I become injured while undergoing maintenance care?

Your treatment plan will be paused or suspended until Dr. Smith or another provider determines that you’ve returned to pre-injury status or that your condition is stable.

I have Medicare. What is covered?

All Medicare plans cover chiropractic manipulation of the spine ONLY (i.e. neck, mid back, low back). This means that treatment of other body parts such as shoulders, hips, and knees is not covered. Medicare stipulates that an initial exam or evaluation must be completed to determine whether spinal manipulation is appropriate. This exam is NOT covered by Medicare and is the patient’s responsibility. In addition, treatments other than joint manipulation, such as the use of heat, muscle stim or traction, are NOT covered by Medicare and must be paid for by the patient.
